Massive pub, great view of the river and it's cheap; what else could you possibly want? I remember going to the Riverside mainly for the cinema, but having a big group of people with me meant that this would be a great place to be sure we'd find lots of space even with the football on.
The quality is of a typical wetherspoon but you mainly go there for the view anyway. If you're in the nearby area or are meeting up for a movie it's a great place to stop for a pint. -

A large, sprawling Spoonies. Only five casks, along with all the macro kegs and admittedly decent craft gear in bottles. Not great selection, even when compared to other JDW outlets. Friendly service. Toilets upstairs. Free Wifi. Not a must-visit.

A fairly standard Wetherspoons in the slightly modern and slightly ugly riverside quarter (looks kind of like it wants to be Birmingham canalside but isn't). Having the river out back is nice mind you.
The upstairs is a bit quieter. The whole place is actually very spacious although i imagine it might be quite awful at the weekend
Enjoyed a Seville Otter. A rather good beer. -

Typical city centre pub.
Toilets were filthy and had no paper.
Sticky floor and odd layout. Pokey corners too!
No clearly defined dance floor.
The rear doors meant you were unable to get back in the building as the doors were push to get out and no handles on the outside to get back in. LOL,
Door staff on the main door, but you could use the side doors to get in, so where is the crowd control there? Too busy and sound system was awful. Music was a poor mix of current populist tunes. -

I think there is a bit of a mix up here from the previous 2 reviews. The queen of Iceni is weatherspoons. it is a Busy pub, I have only been a couple of times both on hot days. We were able to grab a table outside overlooking the river and settle down wirth a pitcher of Pimms for £9.00. Very relaxing, punters friendly and so were the staff. We rounded off with their new menu - Superfood Salad with Chicken - Char- grilled slice chicken breast with Butternut squash, spinach, edamame soya beans, broccoli, fine green beans, pomegranate seed and red chard with with Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing all at 468kcal. I did add a pepercorn sauce to my meal as I thought the chicken may be dry, but it I need not have bothered as there was ample vinaigrette. (but the peppercorn sauce was very nice). Before taking my order I was informed there would be a 40 minute delay, I was pleased when our mweals arrived within 30 minutes. For the price and service, I give 5 stars.
